NY Observer Project

This semester I'm taking a class called 'The New York Observer Project.' It's pretty much a real life editorial experience. Every week we get a book review (most of the time only a brief synopsis of the book from Amazon) and we get about 5 days to finish our piece and send it in. The editor of the NY Observer chooses a piece every week to be published. This is the latest book review:

Week 2: This was a book of Jewish folklore. It was about 12 of the 36 souls that the world needs at all time to sustain itself. I really want to read this book (Barnes and Nobles outing, anyone?).

All in all, my professor said that my concepts were good but I needed better technical work. I tried to not take it as 'Melissa, your ideas are good but you can't draw.' So I'm just going to work harder on the next one.

Happy February!
